What We Collect
This policy covers both our web platform for homeowners and the ZenHome Tech mobile app for service professionals.
Everyone
- Name, email, and phone number
- Home address and property details
- Project records and maintenance history
- Messages with your AI assistant
- Documents you upload (inspections, warranties, etc.)
- Payment information for services
Service Professionals (ZenHome Tech App)
When you use the mobile app for walkthroughs, you choose when to capture:
- Photos, audio, and video of job sites
- Voice transcriptions for reports and estimates
- Location while clocked in (you can decline this — the app still works without it)
We also collect basic app diagnostics to keep the app running smoothly.
How We Use It
- Manage your home maintenance plans and projects
- Generate reports, estimates, and documentation from walkthroughs
- Connect homeowners with verified service professionals
- Process payments
- Send reminders and project updates
- Improve our services using anonymized, aggregated trends — we never use your individual data to train AI models
What Homeowners See
When a service professional documents work at your property, you may see photos and generated reports in your project dashboard. Raw audio and video recordings are never shared with homeowners.
Who We Share With
We don't sell your data. We don't share your personal information for marketing or advertising. We never share homeowner data with outside parties without your permission.
We use a small number of service providers to run ZenHome (cloud hosting, authentication, payment processing, and app diagnostics). They only access what they need to do their job and are bound by data protection agreements.
Your Data, Your Control
- Access or download your data anytime from your dashboard
- Update or correct your information
- Request deletion of specific data or your entire account
- Service professionals can request deletion through their employer or by contacting us
How Long We Keep It
- Account data stays while your account is active
- Walkthrough media (photos, audio, video) is kept while the account is active and deleted when it's closed
- After you delete your account, all data is permanently removed within 30 days
- Project records are kept for 2 years unless you request earlier deletion
- Payment records are retained as required by law
Security
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use strict access controls, run regular security audits, and offer two-factor authentication. For homeowner security systems, we only store basic manufacturer and model info — never access codes or configurations.
California Privacy Rights
California residents can request their data, ask for deletion, and opt out of data sales (though we don't sell data). You can exercise these rights without discrimination.
Other Things to Know
- ZenHome is not intended for anyone under 18
- In rare emergencies (like imminent property damage), we may share minimal info with emergency services
- If ZenHome is ever sold, you'll be notified in advance, your data stays protected, and you can opt out
- If we update this policy, we'll post the new version, update the date, and email you about significant changes
