ZenHome connector documentation
Connect ZenHome to Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini and your AI can act on your home. Here’s how to set it up, what each tool does, how your data is scoped, and how to fix common snags.
Setup · about a minute
Connect ZenHome to your AI
https://zenhome.ai/api/mcp- 1
Open your AI app’s connector settings
In Claude: Settings → Connectors. In ChatGPT: Settings → Connectors. Choose “Add custom connector.” Coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) take the same URL as a remote MCP server.
- 2
Add the ZenHome connector URL
Paste the connector URL below. No app to install.
- 3
Sign in with your ZenHome account
ZenHome is phone-first — enter the phone number on your account and the code we text you. No password to create.
- 4
Approve access and start
Approve the read + message-with-confirmation access. ZenHome now appears in your tools — just ask about your home.
What your AI can do
The tools ZenHome adds, by role
Your ZenHome account decides which set your AI sees when it connects. Homeowners get the first list; field techs the second; ZenHome and StoneLink coordinators the third. The lists below are generated from the same table the server uses, so they can’t drift from what actually runs.
- Looks upreads only, changes nothing
- Recordswrites to ZenHome, nothing leaves the building
- Asks firstreaches a person or commits work, so your AI app confirms first
Homeowners · 8 tools
4 look things up, 4 ask first. Every call is scoped to your own projects and property; a message to your team is read by a person before anything changes. Plain-English tour: the homeowner page.
Find your projects
searchProjectsLists the projects on your ZenHome account, open and finished.
“Show me all my projects and which ones are still open.”
Check status and schedule
getContextReads where a project stands, what happens next, who is scheduled, and the messages on it.
“Where is my kitchen remodel at, and who is coming this week?”
Know your house
propertyAnalyzerLooks up your property: year built, systems, and permit history, so planning starts from the house you actually have.
“Could my 1920s house handle an open-concept kitchen?”
Read your project photos
analyzeMediaDescribes what the photos already on your project show, and answers questions about them.
“Does the tile in the latest photos match what we picked?”
Start a project
createProjectOpens a new project on your account from an address and a description. It starts as a lead; nothing is booked or priced until a person reviews it.
“Start a project for the bathroom we just scoped.”
Book or move a visit
manageAppointmentRequests, reschedules, or cancels a visit to your home. The team confirms the slot.
“Move Thursday’s walkthrough to Friday afternoon.”
Add photos
addProjectPhotosAttaches photos you share in the chat to your project so the team sees what you see.
“Add these three photos of the leak to my plumbing project.”
Message your team
communicateDrafts a message to your ZenHome project team. You approve it, and a team member reads it before anything goes out.
“Tell my project team I want to add a tile backsplash and have them update the quote.”
Field techs · 6 tools
Assigned jobs only. Staffing and work-date changes go through the coordinator.
Pull up the job
getContextReads the project: scope, status, the schedule, the customer’s notes, and recent messages.
“What’s the scope on my 1pm, and is there a gate code?”
Find a job
searchProjectsFinds projects you are assigned to by customer name, address, or status.
“Find the Hatfield bathroom job.”
Log progress
manageProjectUpdates a project record you are on: a summary of what was done, a status change, or a note for the coordinator.
“Log that the rough-in is done and we’re waiting on inspection.”
Add job photos
addProjectPhotosAttaches before and after photos to the project from the chat.
“Add these photos to the Oakland Ave job.”
Adjust a visit
manageAppointmentRequests a reschedule or cancels a visit on one of your jobs. Staffing changes still go through the coordinator.
“Push my 3pm to tomorrow morning; the part didn’t arrive.”
Radio the coordinator
communicateSends a message on the project so the coordinator sees it in the same thread as everything else.
“Tell the coordinator the customer wants to add a second outlet.”
Coordinators (ZenHome and StoneLink) · 27 tools
9 read, 16 write internal records, 2 reach a person. A confirmed send from a coordinator account goes out immediately. Money movement, customer-facing quote and report sends, and account creation are not on the connector. Worked examples: the team page.
Find projects
searchProjectsSearches projects by customer, address, status, or assigned tech.
“Which jobs are scheduled for Thursday with no tech assigned?”
Read a project or contact
getContextPulls the full picture: status, timeline, communications, and contact lookup by phone or name.
“Who is 401-555-0100, and what have we told them so far?”
What’s next on a project
getProjectNextStepsThe same ranked next-steps queue the project page shows: open tasks, pending sends, scheduled follow-ups.
“What’s blocking the Miller kitchen right now?”
Look up a property
propertyAnalyzerYear built, systems, and permit considerations for an address, before a walkthrough.
“Anything I should know about 126 Oakland before Tuesday’s visit?”
Check the playbook
getSopReads a section of the standard operating procedures: pricing tiers, the labour rate, trade rates, and the rest.
“What’s our hourly rate for electrical, and which flat-rate tier does a faucet swap fall in?”
Read project documents
analyzeDocumentsLists and reads the invoices, receipts, permits, and contracts attached to a project.
“Summarize the permits on file for the Warwick deck.”
Read project photos
analyzeMediaLists the photos on a project and describes what they show.
“What do the photos from yesterday’s visit show at the Cranston job?”
Read a walkthrough video
analyzeVideoWatches a walkthrough video already on the project and reports what it found: rooms, measurements, problems.
“Pull the measurements out of the basement walkthrough video.”
Draft an estimate
generateEstimateBuilds a line-item estimate from the project scope. Takes a moment and costs an AI call, so use it when a project has none yet.
“Draft an estimate for the Smith bathroom from the walkthrough notes.”
Edit an estimate
refineEstimatesAdds, changes, or removes line items on an existing estimate.
“Add a $450 disposal line and bump tile labour to 16 hours.”
Archive a draft estimate
archiveEstimateSoft-deletes a draft estimate. Reversible.
“Archive the old DIY estimate on the Miller job.”
Set material selections
manageSelectionsReads or sets the per-room material picks (tile, vanity, faucet) the homeowner sees on their plan.
“Set the floor tile to the mid option and the vanity to premium.”
Check the product library
manageCatalogLooks up and updates the products we have specified before, so a quote uses the price on file.
“What did we last spec for a 36-inch vanity, and at what price?”
Update a project
manageProjectCreates or updates a project: status, summary, contact, project manager, assigned tech, or company.
“Assign Luis as lead on the Hatfield job and mark it scheduled.”
Update a contact
manageContactsCreates or edits a customer contact: name, phone, email, address.
“Add the tenant’s number to the Oakland contact.”
Schedule work
manageAppointmentBooks, moves, or cancels visits, assigns techs, sets work dates, and lists who is available.
“Put the Cranston deck on Thursday and Friday with Luis and Marco.”
Message a customer or tech
communicateSends a text or email on a project. From a coordinator account this goes out as soon as you confirm, so read the draft.
“Text the homeowner that we’re running 30 minutes late.”
Schedule a follow-up
scheduleFollowupQueues a follow-up message for later that only sends if its conditions still hold (for example, the quote is still unanswered).
“If they haven’t approved the quote by Monday, nudge them.”
Track a task
manageTaskCreates, assigns, and lists internal tasks across projects.
“Make a high-priority task for me to call back about tile selection by Friday.”
Add visit media to a checkup
ingestVisitMediaPulls a walkthrough video or photos into a property visit so the checkup can be generated from them.
“Add this walkthrough video to the 126 Oakland visit.”
Generate a checkup report
generateCheckupReportStarts checkup generation from the recorded walkthroughs. Takes a few minutes; read it back when it finishes.
“Regenerate the checkup at 126 Oakland, the last one came out truncated.”
Read a checkup report
getCheckupReportReads the draft or finished checkup for a property.
“Give me the findings from the Hatfield checkup.”
Edit checkup findings
editCheckupFindingsAdds, edits, or removes findings on a draft checkup, including tenant-caused damage and estimates.
“Add the broken screen door as a tenant-tagged finding at $180.”
Fix a photo label
editVisitMediaMetaCorrects a photo’s room or caption on a checkup.
“That photo is the second bathroom, not the kitchen.”
Remove stray media
archiveVisitMediaArchives a photo or clip that doesn’t belong on a checkup. Reversible.
“Drop the two laptop screenshots from the Hatfield checkup.”
Add project photos
addProjectPhotosAttaches photos from the chat to a project.
“Add these to the Warwick job as before photos.”
File a document
processFileUploadClassifies and saves a document you attach (a receipt, a permit, a supplier invoice) to the right project.
“File this Home Depot receipt against the Miller kitchen.”
Privacy & scope
Your home. Your data. Your call.
- ✓Scoped to you. The connector only ever sees your own projects and property — never another customer’s.
- ✓Read-first. Most tools only read. Anything that reaches a person or commits work is confirmed in your AI app first, and a homeowner message is read by a team member before anything changes.
- ✓You stay in control. No payments, no account changes, no quotes or reports sent to customers. The connector can’t do any of that, for anyone.

Troubleshooting
Common snags
- I can’t sign in.
- ZenHome is phone-first — enter the phone number on your ZenHome account, then the code we text you. There’s no password.
- I work at ZenHome or StoneLink and it only shows me homeowner tools.
- The connector reads the role on your ZenLink account. If your account was never set up with a coordinator or technician role, it falls back to the homeowner set. Ask your ZenHome coordinator to check your account, then disconnect and reconnect.
- My AI says I have no projects.
- Projects are scoped to your account. You’ll see a project only if you’re its homeowner or a listed contact. If you expected one, reach out to your ZenHome team.
- The connector won’t add.
- Make sure you entered https://zenhome.ai/api/mcp exactly, and that your AI app supports custom MCP connectors with OAuth sign-in.
- It won’t send my message.
- That’s by design. The connector drafts messages and only sends them after you explicitly confirm — your AI can’t message your team on its own.
